The Human Condition: Drama
What is it about our obsession with drama?
He said this, she did that, they took revenge through this… far out.
If drama had a monetary value (and let’s not conclude that it doesn’t as yet) I’d be literally rolling in it.
Is drama weighing too heavily in your life? Here’s something I prepared a little earlier for you.
Now let me be straight — in my younger years I can honestly (and a little shamefully) attest to the reams of drama in my life. I carefully placed it there as a wedge between existing and success, a ‘nice’ little bit of spice to keep me on my toes.
Yep, in those years I gave too much time to people who didn’t do a whole lot for me (note: that’s not everyone, in fact I still have some very good and healthy friendships from my younger years), I participated in conversations that went in the wrong direction for too long and I exposed myself to situations that did not serve me well.
I experienced frustration, anger, bitter tears.
And the friends around me heard it all and commiserated alongside me, or just walked away — those who chose that path I truly cannot blame.
Still. Among the drama was a whole bunch of fun and it took me to my 40s to realise that I have actually been a pretty good human for the most part, albeit a human who had made some unhealthy (and dramatic) choices.
